Banff National Park forms part of the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks UNESCO World Heritage Site. Hilda Peak is located in northern Banff National Park near the boundary with Jasper National Park. It is situated immediately east Mount Athabasca, west of Parker Ridge, and southwest of Sunwapta Pass. Hilda is a subsidiary peak of Mount Athabasca. The scenic Icefield Parkway passes to the east and the reddish Hilda Peak can be seen prominently from the highway.
